Apr 19, 2016 (newstodate): EU is reportedly on the road towards lifting Iran Air fully off the aviation safety black list.
The carrier was put on the black-list in 2010 for failing to meet EU requirements on air safety, banning the carrier's seven Boeing 747 and five Airbus A320 aircraft from entering its airspace, and leaving Iran Air with only 14 Airbus A300, eight Airbus A310 and one Boeing 737 to operate its European route network.
Now a EU team will perform inspections of Iran Air again in May 2016, leading presumably to lifting the carrier off the list, and thus allowing it to return services to Europe without restrictions.
