Apr 25, 2016 (newstodate): While a new Tallinn Airport CEO has still to be announced, Estonia's Tallinn Airport will be merged into a consortium of six state-owned transport companies.
Tallinn Airport will become member of a consortium comprising also Estonian Railways, the rail cargo operator EVR Cargo, Port of Tallinn, the pilotage company Eesti Loots, and the operator of regional ports Saarte Liinid.
The aim is to allow the companies to focus entirely on their core business, transferring issues like IT, real estate management, financial management, legal counseling and internal audit to the consortium.
Another state-owned companmy, the country's new carrier Nordica, will however remain on its own.
The proposal by the country's Ministry of Transportation has still to be approved by the government.
