Apr 29, 2016 (newstodate): According to local Albanian media, the country's international airport at Tirana has found a new Chinese owner.
A Chinese company, China Everbright Ltd- a financial services company active in asset management, direct investment, brokerage and investment banking in China and Hong Kong - is said to have acquired Tirana Mother Theresa Airport from its current operator Tirana International Airport, a consortium owned by Germany's AviAlliance, DEG Deutsche Investitions-und Entwicklungsgesellschaft, a member of the KfW banking group, and the Albanian-American Enterprise Fund.
After this acquisition, the airport will be managed by Keen Dynamics, a consortium between the Chinese investor and Friedman Pacific under an airport airport concession until 2025, with 2 years extension to 2027, pending the final approval by the Albanian government.
