Apr 12, 2016 (newstodate): Now it's a deal: airBaltic has firmed up its conversion of the remaining seven Bombardier CS300 options into firm orders, bringing the total number of aircraft to 20.
The decision by the airline to bring the total firm orders to 20 was aired on the sidelines of this year's ITB in February 2016, but has not been officially confirmed until now after Bombardier has finally secured the Canadian state aid for its money-drained CS program that was otherwise in danger of striking ground.
At the same time, the Latvian carrier has also recently been rejuvenated after securing fresh capital from private and state sources to regain positive equity after a strained period.
