Apr 15, 2016 (newstodate): With the huge ISAF cargo loads now fully gone since the end of 2014, year-on-year statistics are again reflecting reality at Latvia's Riga Airport.
During this year's Q1, the airport thus saw a growth by 12.5 percent, y-o-y, to 4,917 tonnes, of which 3,045 tonnes were cargo and 1,872 tonnes were mail shipments.
Compared to the first three months of 2015, this year's start has been marked by monthly growth by 20.1, 3.8 and 14.6 percent in the first three months of 2016.
The Q1 2016 growth was driven by cargo shipments that increased by 20 percent, while mail volumes grew modestly by two percent, y-o-y.
