Mar 17, 2016 (newstodate): Tallinn Airport has announced a Finnish construction company winner of the tender for infrastructure projects opened in September 2015.
The contract with Lemminkainen Eesti has now been signed and work on reconstruction and extension by 420m of the existing 23,070m runway, construction of new taxiways and apron areas will start already in April 2016, slated for completion by the end of 2017.
Installation of new runway and airfield LED lighting systems will also facilitate the upgrading of the runway to Cat II in both directions.
The EU Cohesion Fund will provide 50 percent of the total project costs.
