Mar 14, 2016 (newstodate): Western airlines are still rather reluctant in their approach to the Russian market, but at least the situation may have stabilized.
Thus carrier like Lufthansa and Turkish Airlines are not planning for further reductions in their services to Russia, with Lufthansa maintaining services to Moscow, St Petersburg and Karsnodar and Turkish Airlines operating into 30 destinations in Russia during this summer schedule including Chelyabinsk, Yekaterinburg, Kaliningrad, Kazan, Astrakhan, Magnitogorsk, Kursk, Murmansk, Surgut, Tyumen and Ufa.
Finnair will maintain its services to Moscow, St Petersburg, Yekaterinburg, Kazan and Samara, while the Latvian carrier airBaltic will actually increase frequencies on its routes to Moscow and St Petersburg.
On the optimistic side, the Czech carrier CSA is said to reconsider adding flights to Kazan and Kaliningrad from this summer, earlier slated for launch in summer 2015 but called off due to the deepening crisis.
As earlier announced, the US carrier Delta Air Lines is also returning services from New York to Moscow from May 16, 2016.
