Mar 16, 2016 (newstodate): The privatization of the Slovenian carrier Adria Airways has now been firmed up, with the Luxembourg-based equity fund 4K Invest to take full ownership.
So far, the new investor has taken 96 percent of the shares in the airline, and the last remaining shares will now be bought as well, securing full ownership of the Star Alliance partner airline.
Adria Airways will continue to serve the markets of Slovenia, Albania, Kosovo and Macedonia, but plans are also to grow business in Estonia, a new market it entered in November 2015 as a partner to Estonia's new airline Nordica that took over as Estonian Air folded its wings.
The coming new routes by Adria Airways from Tallinn to European destinations will however be set up independently from its ongoing cooperation with Nordica.
In the fleet of Adria Airways are now 12 aircraft including three Airbus A319 and nine Bombardier regional jet aircraft.
