With this decision, the carrier's fleet of CS300 aircraft will grow to 20, with the first delivery slated for September 2016, in time for the coming winter schedule.
Concurrent with the CS300 deliveries, the carrier will phase out its last remaining Boeing 737 aircraft by the end of 2019, at the latest.
News were broken by the carrier's CEO, Martin Gauss speaking to journalists at the ongoing ITB.
Mr Gauss also announced that airBaltic plans to go for an all-jet fleet in six years, replacing the 12 Bombardier Q400 aircraft with a new type of aircraft.
