Mar 30, 2016 (newstodate): After some delays, Latvia has now finally received the euro 52 mio from a German investor into the currently state-owned carrier airBaltic.
After this, the Latvian state is also investing another 80 mio euro in the airline, securing its fleet expansion and the implementation of airBaltic's Horizon 2021 plan.
With this expanded capital base, the carrier will consolidate its expansion and business operations to pave the way for a future deal with a strategic partner to take a significant stake in the airline.
