Mar 14, 2016 (newstodate): Late deliveries of its next Airbus A350 aircraft are again forcing Finnair to revise its plans for introduction of the aircraft on the long-haul routes.
The route Helsinki-Beijing operated with Airbus A350 opened on January 6, 2016, earlier planned for December 4, 2015, but during the period March 3 to April 30, 2016, Finnair's flights to Beijing are again operated with a mix of A330-300 and A340-300, replacing the A350-900.
The A350 was to revert to the route from May 1, 2016 - but this date has now been reset to May 10, 2016.
Worse affected is the Airbus A350 entry on the route to Singapore, originally slated for May 5, 2016, but now postponed to start only on October 10, 2016.
During the coming summer, Finnair will thus operate the Airbus A350 on its routes from Helsinki to Bangkok, Hong Kong and Shanghai.
Finnair received its first Airbus A350 aircraft on October 7, 2015, and the aircraft entered into long-haul commercial service from November 21, 2015, on the route between Helsinki and Shanghai.
Only three aircraft have so far entered commercial service with Finnair, while plans are to take delivery of another two aircraft before the end of this month - or at least during H1, 2016.
