Mar 30, 2016 (newstodate): A new chapter will open for Denmark's Billund Airport as Turkish Airlines Cargo will launch the airport's first non-integrator scheduled freighter service from April 10, 2016.
So far, the airport has built up a strong position as off-line cargo handling hub as well as handling a significant volume of ad-hoc freighter operations and integrator traffic.
According to the latest issue of the company's Turkish Cargo Magazine, the carrier will add Billund as a new destination on the return flight on the existing route since October 2015 between Istanbul and London Stansted.
The coming new Airbus A310F freighter flight will be operated on Sunday mornings, which will enable Danish exporters to reach onward connections via Istanbul to the carrier's about 300 destinations served by passenger aircraft as well as 59 freighter destinations including Billund Airport as well as Riyadh, Saigon and Barcelona that have also been announced as coming new destinations.
