Mar 01, 2016 (newstodate): Scandinavia has got a "Chinese Friendly Airport" - Sweden's Stockholm Arlanda Airport.
Behind the designation is an MoU aiming at developing "extensive cooperation" between Stockholm Arlanda Airport and Beijing Capital International Airport manifesting itself in the publication of a Chinese-language website for Stockholm Arlanda, information signs in Chinese language, special airport assistance in Chinese as well as remodeling of shop offering catering to Chinese taste.
The cooperation is driven by a significant increase in the volumes of Chinese passengers by Air China on the route between Beijing and Stockholm served since 1988 as well as the SAS route to Hong Kong, launched in September 2015.
In 2015, these volumes of Chinese passengers into and through Stockholm Arlanda Airport grew by 28 percent, y-o-y.
