Feb 03, 2016 (newstodate): In 2015, cargo traffic at Poland's Chopin Airport was up by nine percent, y-o-y, primarily thanks to sustained growth in the traffic by integrators.
In total, the airport handled 58,284 tonnes of freight, including 57,735 tonnes of international cargo, up 9.4 percent, and 548 tonnes of domestic cargo that was down by 20.3 percent.
Imports exceeded exports, with 32,440 tonnes and 25,844 tonnes respectively.
The biggest cargo carriers were LOT Polish Airlines with 20.961 tonnes and up 0.8 percent, y-o-y, UPS Airlines with 9,547 tonnes and up 77.8 percent, European Air Transport operating for DHL with 8,237 tonnes and up 14.8 percent, Emirates with 6,108 tonnes and up 0.9 percent, and finally TNT Airways with 3,007 tonnes and up 23.2 percent.
Air mail volumes saw a decline by0 7.4 percent, y-o-y, to 14,100 tonnes in 2015.
