Feb 12, 2016 (newstodate): Scan Global Logistics is determined to grow its position in the Norwegian market.
As one proof of its strategy of growth, the company has added a number of new employees at its offices in Western Norway, home to centers of Norwegian oil & gas industries as well as the voluminous seafood industry.
-We are present with own offices in Bergen opening from March 1, 2016, Stavanger as well as Oslo, and with the new assignments we are adding competencies and resources with strong backgrounds in the industry, says Dag Ulstein, Scan Global Norway managing director.
-We are of course well aware that the current economic situation in Norway is not at its best due to the worldwide and over-all decline in the oil and gas markets, but we are confident that Norway will catch up again within the coming few years, and we will be ready to cope with growth in sea, air and projects logistics.
-Scan Global is strongly represented in many other markets not least in Denmark, Sweden and China - but has so far been undersized in Norway. Our aim is to see that our company will grow to the position it rightly deserves in Norway, measured in market share and customer portfolio. With a staff now grown to 18, and probably going up to 20 before the end of this year, we will be in a position to develop in close competition with other providers in this market.
-Our focus is on serving the needs of the oil and gas industries as well as the large number of manufacturing industries in the country. Seafood will, however, not immediately become a focus area as this industry is heavily people-oriented, requiring the hiring of specialists with strong personal networks, says Mr Ulstein.
