Feb 03, 2016 (newstodate): Small Planet Airlines sees big growth potentials in Germany.
Managed by Andreas Wobig and Oliver Pawel, Small Planet Airlines Germany was set up in 2015 as a subsidiary of the Lithuanian leisure carrier Small Planet Airlines, with two Airbus A320 aircraft from the Polish carrier stationed in Bremen and Paderborn, respectively, and immediately landed contracts with two of Germany's largest tour operators, TUI and Thomas Coook.
-We expect our German carrier to have its own AOC by April or May this year, and in the slightly longer term we will see our German market growing to the size of the Polish market where we will have nine aircraft in summer 2016, says Simonas Bartkus, Small Planet Airlines CCO.
-We see the potentials in our Polish market almost exhausted. We may add one or two more aircraft there but there is hardly more demand to be met there. The Lithuanian market is also filled, we have added a third aircraft here but that will probably suffice for the next two or three years.
-In the UK, potentials still abound, the market is growing strongly, especially with flights to and from London Gatwick, says Mr Bartkus.
