Feb 05, 2016 (newstodate): With the lifting of many of the sanctions imposed on Iran by January 16, 2016, venues are opening for resumption, and expansion, of trade with with European manufacturers and provider.
Among logistic companies ready to move is the Danish forwarding and logistics company DSV, now further strengthened with its acquisition of the US company UTi Worldwide.
Monitoring global sanctions and embargoes, DSV's Group Legal and Security Department has given its green light for business with Iran, and instructions for handling of goods to/from/via Iran have been updated and communicated throughout the company's global network.
-Through an Iranian partner, DSV has actually been doing some business with Iran also during the past period concerning legally approved projects, so we are in position to grow in this market as customer demands rise, says Henrik Nielsen, Managing Director DSV Air & Sea.
-With this set-up we are fully capable of scaling our activities to grasp a significant share of the coming trade and business between Iran and other markets, although we do not expect this market to grow to same proportions as South Africa or the USA.
-What we do expect is a rise in not least the export of pharma products to Iran where Denmark has big potentials. We have a blooming pharmaceutical industry, and DSV is a GDP certified company with a dedicated pharmaceutical logistics center that meets all IATA pharma requirements in storing, palletizing and transporting temperature-sensitive pharmaceutical shipments, says Mr Nielsen.
