Feb 22, 2016 (newstodate): The Hungarian government has announced plans for sponsoring air connections between Budapest and three destinations in the former Yugoslavia as well as the capitals of Albania and Bulgaria.
The decision concerns regular scheduled flights to Podgorica, Pristina, Skopje, Tirana and Sofia.
The government will thus shortly open a tender among EU carriers to place bids on the proposed routes.
Experience has shown that these flights cannot be operated profitably, and the government wants to spur the development both in business and tourism.
