Feb 23, 2016 (newstodate): Plans are in place for the start already in March 2016 of flights by the coming new Finnish carrier Go! Aviation.
-We will have our AOC in place this week after a prolonged process due to issues with the registration of our first Pilatus PC-12 aircraft, formerly on German registry, says Jorma Kario, Go! Aviation CEO.
-We will start out with one or two aircraft, going up to six aircraft in 2016 and growing by another six aircraft in 2017. Most of our technical staff is in place, and we will start with three pilots while we will not need cabin crew on aircraft of this size.
-Go! will offer both scheduled and charter services, with the scheduled flights taking passengers holding tickets for a full month's unlimited flights on any route by Go!, while charter operations will be offered on an individual basis.
-The first flights will be performed already from March 2016 on the route from Kuopio to Helsinki, continuing to Tallinn, in Estonia. After this, a network will be built including routes from Finland to Sweden, Denmark, Belgium, Holland and other European markets.
-In Sweden we will be offering flights to Stockholm Bromma and Malmoe Airport, in Denmark destinations will be Roskilde Airport and Odense HCA Airport, while flights to Norway will come further down the road, probably to be launched in 2017.
-We have investors in place for the start of operations, but is is of course an ongoing effort to secure the financing of our expansive plans. We are, however, confident that initial successes will pave the ground for sustained investments to secure the roll-out of our company's business model, says Mr Kario.
