Feb 09, 2016 (newstodate): Aviator has now formally handed in its offer for taking over the SAS Group's handling arm, SGH.
It turns out, however, that the offer comprises a part of SGH's business only, entailing a split between SGH's airside and landside activites.
SAS confirms that the offer has been received and will now analyze details before deciding on the issue and setting a deadline for the take-over.
On September 8, 2015, Aviator and the SAS Group signed a LoI announcing acquisition talks between Aviator and SGH in Scandinavia - and since then the process has been effectively curtailed.
According to the LoI, Aviator Airport Alliance Europe aims to take over SAS Ground Handling's operations at the major Scandinavian airports Oslo Gardemoen, Copenhagen, Arlanda, Malmoe and Gothenburg.
The proposed deal does not, however, include the cargo handling company Spirit Air Cargo Handling.
