Dec 12, 2016 (newstodate): Work is progressing according to plans for construction of Finnair's new cargo terminal to be opened by Spring 2017.
Branded as Finnair Cargo COOL Terminal, the new 31,000 sq m terminal will be divided into three zones: 25,000 sq m will be dedicated to general cargo handling, and two spaces for temperature-controlled zones, roughly 3,000 sq m each.
The new COOL Terminal has own aircraft parking stands, benefiting from short and safe driving distances to passenger aircraft at the terminals.
With the project fully on track, all construction works should be ready by the end of February 2017, to be followed by a period of the testing of warehouse automation and the staff training prior to the opening of the terminal.
