Dec 06, 2016 (newstodate): The Serb carrier Air Serbia is consolidating its strong performance in 2016 in the cargo business as well.
In October, the carrier lifted a total of 575 tonnes of cargo, an increase by no less than 46 percent, y-o-y.
Of this total, 401 tonnes were cargo shipments which was an increase by 42 percent, and mail volumes were also up by 57 percent, y-o-y, to 174 tonnes.
The steep increase in volumes is to a large degree driven by the opening of the carrier's new route between Belgrade and New York, operated with Airbus A330 from June 2016.
