Dec 09, 2016 (newstodate): Over the last few years, Germany's Frankfurt Hahn Airport has seen the departure of several cargo carriers - but there are good news as well.
Among these, the opening of the German logistics provider Senator International's air bridge to the USA ranks high on the screen.
The Icelandic ACMI and charter carrier Air Atlantic has sourced one Boeing 747-400 freighter to Senator International, basing the aircraft at Frankfurt Hahn Airport to operate one weekly rotation starting from November 5, 2016, on the route between Frankfurt Hahn and the US destination Greenville Spartanburg, with another rotation on the route between Munich and Greenville Spartanburg.
Cargo sales on the routes has been entrusted to the Swiss GSA Globe Air Cargo, member of the ECS Group, and to optimize the utilization of the aircraft, excess capacity is marketed on a charter basis by Chapman Freeborn.
One key driver behind Senator's US air bridge is the German automobile manufacturer BMW with production facilities both in Spartanburg and Munich, and a customer of Senator International.
