Dec 20, 2016 (newstodate): Nothing can rock Norway's Oslo Airport from its undisputed #1 position in the Nordic region as to provision of freighter services.
In the current schedule that has expanded strongly this year, Oslo Airport is handling 11 weekly freighter flights including Qatar Airways with six weekly Airbus A330-200F/Boeing 777F operations, Korean Cargo with four weekly Boeing 777F operations, and Emirates SkyCargo with one weekly Boeing 777F operation.
But during the running-up to the Christmas peak season, the volume of weekly freighter operations grow even further, with for instance Emirates SkyCargo throwing in one extra flights this week.
-This is certainly the single most busy week in the year, when it comes to Norway's seafood exports, says Martin Langaas, Avinor Cargo Development Manager.
-One only has to look at the often kilometer-long queues of trucks waiting for access to the cargo terminal area during this period, he says.
