Dec 05, 2016 (newstodate): At midnight November 30, 2016, Aviator UK ceased operations at four UK airports London Gatwick, Newcastle, Birmingham and Edinburgh.
After this, Aviator UK is only operating at Manchester Airport where its handling business was started by April 1, 2014.
The demise at four UK airports has caused 100 job reductions, but Aviator has secured the continued employment of another 1,500 staff with the companies that have taken over its former contracts.
The pull-out from the UK market, earlier heralded as a major break-through under Aviator's former strategy to become no less than "a global leader in aviation services", marks the end of a highly turbulent and little transparent period that saw several members of Aviator's original top management core leaving the company while a new Aviator UK Managing Director was named as late as August 2016 when the earlier holder of the office was abruptly fired.
Among Aviator's leading airline customers in the UK was Norwegian that renewed its contract with Aviator for another three-year period as late as March 2016 at London Gatwick Airport as well as at Manchester Airport from May 1, 2016.
Aviator will now, it says, focus on its handling activities at 16 stations the Nordic Region.
Which is hardly enough to secure a role as "a global leader in aviation services".
