Dec 14, 2016 (newstodate): Azerbaijan is soon to see the launch of a new low-cost airline, Buta Airways.
Buta Airways will be owned 100 percent by its parent, Azerbaijan Airlines, and will be based at Baku Heydar Aliyev International Airport with a fleet of Embraer aircraft.
The new LCC carrier is expected to lift off by Autumn 2017, but so far no details on fleet and destinations have been revealed.
In the fleet of its parent, Azerbaijan Airlines are one Embraer ERJ-170 and four ERJ-190 aircraft with orders for delivery of a further two aircraft.
