Dec 15, 2016 (newstodate): The Latvian charter and ACMI carrier SmartLynx will be recruiting more cockpit crews as the aircraft fleet expands over the coming years.
In the fleet of the carrier are now 12 Airbus A320 aircraft and one Airbus 321 providing flights in Europe, Asia and Africa.
In 2017, the fleet will be supplemented by two Airbus A320 and one Airbus 321 aircraft, while in 2018 the fleet will be further expanded reaching a total of 18 aircraft.
To match the requirements from the expansion of the fleet, SmartLynx expects to recruit about 80 additional pilots over the coming few years, and a five-year contract has been signed with BAA Training to implement a new pilot cadet program.
Students will undergo EASA ATPL integrated training program at BAA Training and will acquire the ATPL frozen license.
Successful candidates will progress to become co-pilots on the Airbus A320 Family aircraft.
