Dec 09, 2016 (newstodate): While the total cargo volumes increased only modestly by 2.8 percent, y-o-y, in November 2016, the company still saw its cargo on scheduled traffic up by 5.3 percent.
The total volume was thus marked by the drop by 12.6 percent in freighter traffic that now only comprises three weekly freighter flights between Helsinki and Brussels, operated by DHL.
In total, the carrier lifted 12,498 tonnes of cargo in November, including 1,505 tonnes on freighters.
November 2016 saw the Asian volumes at 7,979 tonnes up by 8.4 percent, y-o-y, the European volumes were also up by 6.2 percent to 2,342 tonnes, while North American loads declined by 30 percent to a mere 508 tonnes.
In November, Finnair's cargo capacity in scheduled traffic measured in ATKs grew by 2.2 percent, while RTKs increased by 5.8 percent, y-o-y.
Summing up the first 11 months of this year, Finnair Cargo has generated 135,672 tonnes of cargo which is up 12.9 percent, y-o-y.
