Dec 22, 2016 (newstodate): After six years as DHL Express CEO, Danish national Claus Lassen is to take up a new challenge from January 1, 2017.
Mr Lassen has been named DHL Express Turkey CEO, taking over-all responsibility for the company in Turkey with some 1,000 staff generating an EBIT around 10 times the size of DHL Express' in Denmark.
Before his turn in Denmark as CEO from 2010, Mr Lassen served with DHL Express as Area Director Eastern Europe based in Zagreb January 2009-June 2010, and VP Sales and Marketing CIS and South East Europe based in Moscow September 2007-April 2009.
-My main focus has always been on change management, and we have now completed a full turn-around of DHL Express Denmark leading to a highly enhanced customer-oriented culture and a motivated staff, resulting in a strongly improved result at around 100 mio DKK on the bottom line and growth in both volume and value.
-The challenge ahead is now to perform a similar turn-around of DHL Express in Turkey that is a huge country with strong resources. The first task will be to perform a full appraisal of each corner of the organization to become fully acquainted with the current situation and next to set goals for the process in the time ahead, says Mr Lassen.
His successor in the office as DHL Express Denmark CEO is yet to be announced later today.
