Dec 12, 2016 (newstodate): Boeing and Iran Air have moved one step closer to implementation of the MoU for delivery of 80 aircraft, signed in June 2016.
This step is a sales agreement comprising 50 737 MAX 8, 15 777-300ER and 15 777-9 aircraft, with the deliveries to start from 2018.
The order is, however, still not figuring on Boeing's website, pending the finalization of the last remaining snags and contingencies, to be cleared in cooperation with the US authorities - probably before the incoming new UIS president takes over his office.
Starting by April 2018, Iran Air will take delivery of six Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft per year until it reaches 50.
In 2019, Boeing will deliver six Boeing 777, and starting from 2020 three Boeing 777 aircraft will be handed over annually until the fleet totals 30.
Then, from 2021 10 to 12 aircraft will be delivered each year.
