Dec 19, 2016 (newstodate): No one can blame Baltia Airlines for venturing a jump-start into the airline business. Even after 25 years of preparation, the project still claims to be alive..
Latest news from Baltia Airlines is the signature to a LoI with Kalitta Air for one Boeing 767-300ER aircraft, replacing earlier decades-long planning for starting out with Boeing 747 aircraft.
Baltia Airlines is also now re-starting its FAA Air Carrier Certification program, having reorganized the company under new leadership by Anthony D. Koulouris, Baltia Air Lines President & CFO.
It remains to be seen if the project's business model has also been revised in light of the changing market conditions since it first appeared in 1989.
So far, Baltia Air Lines' ambitions has included first the launch of flights between New York and St Petersburg, and later adding flights to the capital cities of Eastern Europe, including Moscow, Riga, Kiev, and Minsk.
