Nov 10, 2016 (newstodate): Ukraine International Airlines is to introduce a new aircraft type in its fleet: an Airbus A330.
The long-haul aircraft is needed to provide capacity on four out of five weekly rotations on UIA's route from Kiev to Bangkok where passenger loads are to grow during the coming winter season.
UIA has therefore contracted the Ukrainian charter carrier Windrose Airlines to provide one Airbus A330-200 on a wet-lease arrangement including pilots, cabin crew and maintenance for the period between November 9, 2016, and April 4, 2017.
UIA's own long-haul aircraft fleet comprises four Boeing 767-300ER aircraft.
