Nov 21, 2016 (newstodate): Small Planet Airlines' Airbus aircraft are not overly happy with cold off-season life in Europe, preferring warmer air for winter operations.
Or, more seriously phrased, the carrier seeks alternative contracts outside Europe during the low European seasons to optimize the utilization of the fleet.
This winter, two Airbus A321 aircraft from Small Planet Airlines Poland will be allocated to Saudi Arabia, under a wet-lease contract with the Saudi charter carrier Nesma Airlines for flights from Jedda.
Since 2014, the carrier has also built up business with customers in Asia to balance the seasonal variations in the European traffic, starting with a cooperation with Bhutan Airlines flying passengers from Bangkok to Paro in Bhutan, followed by the contract with Sky Angkor, and in 2015 the establishment of a representative office in Bangkok, Thailand.
