Nov 28, 2016 (newstodate): The first airline to connect Norway and Africa with a direct route will be Ethiopian Airlines from spring 2017.

Via Addis Ababa, passenger will gain access to transfer to a wide range of African destination on Ethiopian's route network.
On the cargo side, the new route will offer fresh venues for cargo shipments of seafood as well as spares and components for other industries including oil and gas companies.
The new route to Oslo comes as an extension of the existing route between Addis Ababa and Stockholm, in Sweden.
As of now, the route between Addis Ababa and Stockholm is routed via Vienna or Rome, but with the coming extension to Oslo the flights to and from Stockholm will be nonstop.
Ethiopian Airlines has been operating the route Addis Ababa-Stockholm since October 28, 2003, after moving its Scandinavian services from Copenhagen Airport, Denmark.
