Nov 08, 2016 (newstodate): In 2016, Sweden's Malmo Airport has seen its cargo volumes growing - but at last the growth rate will dampen somewhat from mid-November.
The airport is thus set to lose its leading cargo carrier, AirBridgeCargo Airlines that has instead decided to move its Scandinavian operation to Oslo Airport from November 15, 2016, tempted by the ever-growing loads of Norwegian seafood exports.
Since April 2014, ABC Airlines has operated two weekly calls at Malmo Sturup Airport as an en-route stop on the route between Amsterdam and Moscow with Boeing 747-8F freighter.
Also since January 9, 2014, the Volga-Dnepr subsidiary Atran has been operating a weekly Boeing 737-400F freighter flight from Malmo to Moscow, but this service will continue after ABC's move to Oslo.
