Nov 30, 2016 (newstodate): The Latvian charter and ACMI carrier Smartlynx has landed a fresh order with the LCC Norwegian.
Under a contract signed on November 25, 2016, SmartLynx will place two Airbus A320 aircraft on an ACMI agreement with Norwegian for operations out of Copenhagen Airport during the first three months of 2017.
Based at Latvia's Riga Airport, SmartLynx today operates a fleet comprising 12 Airbus A320 and, since May 2016, one Airbus 321 aircraft, but plans have been revealed for adding more aircraft in 2017.
Alongside the ACMI and lease operations, SmartLynx will be offering flights to 12 destinations from Riga and Tallinn during this winter schedule.
These flights are operated in cooperation with tour operators in the Baltic region including Novatours, Tez Tour and Aurinko, but flights will also be offered to other tour operators including Thomas Cook and the TUI Group.
