Nov 30, 2016 (newstodate): The first - and so far only - European operator of the Russian aircraft Superjet 100 will take delivery of a further five aircraft in 2017.
The Irish carrier CityJet has now three Superjet 100 aircraft in the fleet, with the first delivered in May 2016, and has placed orders for a total of 15 aircraft, with options for a further 16.
In January 2017 the carrier will receive its fourth Superjet 100, to be followed by two more in H1, 2017, and two during H2, 2017.
CityJet has announced that if the Superjet 100 operations live up to expectations, it may translate eight options into firm orders in 2018.
In October 2015, CityJet announced its firm order for 15 Superjet 100, and an option for another 10, later increased to 16 in a deal formalized through an agreement with the finance company Falko that will buy the aircraft, and then place them on a leasing agreement with CityJet.
