Nov 23, 2016 (newstodate): As the world's 7th and Russia's first airline, AirBridgeCargo has been awarded the IATA certificate CEIV for transportation of pharmaceutical products.
With the certification, ABC can carry pharmaceutical products all along its route network, and the certification also comprises the air cargo handling by Moscow Cargo at Moscow Sheremetyevo Airport, the carrier's hub where new cold stores and new handling concepts have been implemented.
CEIV certification comprises the preparation of infrastructure and equipment, provision of technological processes of processing and storage of pharmaceutical goods, documentation, staff training and quality control system.
In 2017, Moscow Sheremetyevo Airport will open a new automated cargo complex, the first phase of which will allow for handling of 380,000 tonnes of cargo per year, planned to increase to handling of one mio tonnes at a later stage and including also a dedicated pharma hub for ABC.
