Nov 29, 2016 (newstodate): By 26 November 26, 2016, the Third Country Operators, TCO, regulation has been fully implemented.
As of this date, only operators who hold a TCO authorization from the European Aviation Safety Agency will be able to operate commercial flights to and from the EASA Member States as well as Norway, Switzerland and Iceland
Following the expiry of the application period, EASA has thus now granted the TCO license to 40 Russian airlines, replacing the individual bi-lateral agreements earlier in place.
Included on the list of 40 Russian carriers are passenger airlines, cargo carriers and business service operators.
On the cargo side, the list grants TCO status to Volga-Dnepr Group's airlines Volga-Dnepr, AirBridgeCargo and Atran, as well as Sky Gates Airlines, Aviacon Tzitotrans, Aviastar-TU and Shar Ink.
