Oct 31, 2016 (newstodate): West Atlantic has secured a fresh contract expansion with Royal Mail, taking effect from January 1, 2017.
Under the five-year contract, the carrier will allocate nine Boeing 737 and three British Aerospace ATP aircraft to serving flights on Royal Mail's postal air services.
The contract follows from a tender process where West Atlantic proved to be the only bidder capable of providing aircraft with the capacity of carrying between 8 and 21 tonnes.
In the fleet of West Atlantic are currently three Boeing 767-200F aircraft, serving with TNT, five Boeing 737-400SF and six Boeing 737-300SF, as well as 39 ATP freighter, of which 27 in service and 12 parked as reserve and for cannibalization.
