Oct 06, 2016 (newstodate): Icelandair has now unveiled the two new long-haul destinations to be added to the schedule for Summer 2017.
New routes to the USA are flights to Philadelphia starting from May 30, 2017, and flights to Tampa starting from September 6, 2017.
The flights from Keflavik to Philadelphia will be seasonal, with four weekly rotations till mid-September, while the flights to Tampa will be all-year operations with two weekly rotations.
Also in summer 2017, Icelandair will increase frequency in its route to Portland, from three to up to five weekly rotations the peak summer season.
Part of the significant expansion plan is the addition of another two Boeing 767-300 aircraft bringing this fleet to four units, and the Summer 2017 schedule will thus be served by a total of 30 aircraft, including 26 Boeing 757 aircraft that remain the backbone of the fleet.
