Oct 13, 2016 (newstodate): Pegasus Airlines was reported by media as throwing its entire fleet of 77 Boeing 737-800 and Airbus A320 aircraft on the market for wet-lease contracts.
To calm down the industry, Pegasus Airlines has now refuted the media reports based on an advertisement, clarifying that only three of its aircraft will actually be allocated to wet-lease operations.
-The advertisement in question referred to the Pegasus Airlines fleet of 74 aircraft the fleet size at the time of the advertisement purely in order to provide general information about the total Pegasus Airlines fleet size, not in relation to how many aircraft were available for wet-lease, the carrier says.
With a fleet comprising the remaining 74 aircraft, Pegasus Airlines will continue to serve routes to 33 destinations in Turkey and 69 in the rest of the world in its network of 102 destinations in 40 countries.
