As the latest news, Ryanair is to expand its maintenance unit, Kaunas Aircraft Maintenance Services, opening additional workshops for aircraft components within the existing hangars, as well as recruiting additional aircraft airframe technicians, growing the total staff to about 140.
In 2011, Ryanair decided to build its first aircraft technical maintenance center at Kaunas Airport, now comprising two aircraft maintenance hangars for servicing the fleet of Boeing 737-800 aircraft, and the carrier would also consider adding more hangar facilities in the future as the fleet grows.
