Oct 24, 2016 (newstodate): It came as a surprise that Copenhagen Airport succeeded in landing a new all-cargo operator, Etihad Cargo.
With the first operation on October 20, 2016, the carrier is now offering two weekly flights from Copenhagen Airport to Abu Dhabi, with transfer options to a range of destinations on the airline's network.
The flights are performed with Boeing 777F aircraft flying in from Amsterdam heading to Abu Ddabi after the call at Copenhagen Airport.
Etihad Cargo has contracted WFS to provide cargo handling at Copenhagen Airport, and serving the carrier as GSSA in the Nordic region is Universal GSA that is, however, tight-lipped on providing any details on the new operations's commercial plans.
The launch of the new freighter service also served as a nice welcome gift to Copenhagen Airport's newly-appointed Cargo Manager, Marianne Juul Petersen, who took up the new challenge only from October 15, 2016.
