Oct 10, 2016 (newstodate): Icelandair is to introduce wide-body capacity on a number of routes during next year's summer schedule, including on flights to the three Scandinavian capitals.
The airline's Boeing 767 aircraft will thus operate up to daily rotations to Copenhagen, up to four times weekly to Stockholm, and up to five times weekly to Oslo.
In the fleet of Icelandair are now two Boeing 767-300 aircraft that were introduced into commercial service from May 2016, but the company has signed a contract for the acquisition of a further two Boeing 767 aircraft, slated for entry into service with the carrier from early 2017, bring the fleet to four.
The carrier's backbone remains the 26 Boeing 757-200 passenger aircraft.
