Oct 04, 2016 (newstodate): Icelandair is planning for a continued expansion of destinations, frequencies and aircraft fleet in 2017.
The Icelandic carrier will see its international flight schedule in 2017 expand by approximately 13 percent, y-o-y, the number of passengers is projected at 4.2 million in 2017, an increase by approximately 450,000 from 2016, and two new destinations will be added, which will be introduced in the coming weeks, while flight frequency will be increased to several gateways in both North America and Europe.
Part of the significant expansion plan is the addition of another two Boeing 767-300 aircraft, and the Summer 2017 schedule will thus be served by a total of 30 aircraft, including 26 Boeing 757 aircraft that form the backbone of the fleet.
