Oct 10, 2016 (newstodate): Cargo volumes by Finnair continued to grow strongly in September 2016.
A total of 13,423 tonnes of cargo was lifted by Finnair passenger aircraft as well as by the two weekly freighter flights between Helsinki and Brussels and two weekly freighter flights shared with IAG between Helsinki and London, both operated by DHL.
The over-all total was thus up 22.7 percent, y-o-y, in September, with belly cargo volumes rising 24.8 percent to 11,972 tonnes and freighter volumes rising 8.2 percent to 1,451 tonnes.
Excepting domestic cargo volumes, all segments contributed to the over-all growth, with Asian volumes rising 22.1 percent to 8,499 tonnes, European volumes up 33.8 percent to 2,351 tonnes, and N Atlantic volumes rising 36.3 percent to 970 tonnes.
During January-September 2016 the carrier has thus seen its total volumes up by 15.1 percent, y-o-y, to 109,816 tonnes.
