Oct 06, 2016 (newstodate): Flights between Helsinki and Pori, in Finland, have again been suspended.
According to a release by Airest that has been operating flights on the route on behalf of the virtual carrier Air100, low demand in the market as well as lack of success in negotiations with Pori City about finding solutions for keeping the Pori-Helsinki line operational are behind the airline's decision to suspend services as of October 4, 2016.
Airest does, however, leave the door open for a resumption of services "should the City decide to support and continue the line and/or Pori people more actively use the service", as the release says.
Air100 earlier relied on flights provided by the now defunct Czech carrier Central Connect Airlines that folded its wings in June 2014, grounding Air100 .
Air100 then came back in the air from May 2016 with the Estonian carrier Airest as its provider, offering flights with SAAB 340 aircraft on routes from Helsinki to Pori and to Kittila.
