Oct 24, 2016 (newstodate): Chinese carriers seem to have developed a strong desire for opening flights to Serbia.
According to the Chinese Ambassador to Serbia, cited in Serbian media, no less than three Chinese carriers are vying for setting up flights between China and Serbia, and expectations are that one of these will actually launch flights between Beijing and Belgrade from Spring 2016, already.
The three carriers currently negotiating with Serbia are Air China, Hainan Airlines and China Eastern Airlines, with even a fourth - China Southern - also on the sidelines.
In November 2016, Riga will host the Summit of Prime Ministers of China and Central and Eastern European Countries, and this will probably result in further concrete plans for opening of the coming new flights.
