Jan 22, 2016 (newstodate): Russia's international air travel market took a deep dip in 2015, reflecting the worsening political and economic situation and the effects from the sanctions after Ukraine.
In total, the international travel market was down 14 percent in 2015, compared to 2014, but behind this national average lurks the fact that the volume actually dropped by as much as 30-40 and up to 50 percent in certain airports as most western airlines pulled out from the market.
By contrast, Russia's domestic air travel market remained practically stable while its proportion of the total air travel market rose to nearly 60 percent in 2015.
